Casa de la torre

This penthouse apartment overlooks the roofs and olive groves of Montefrio. There are windows all around letting the Andalucian sun stream in. It is located on a very quiet and very historical corner of town, just a few steps from the Plaza. It is shown in the photo below, with "la torre", the tower on the roof, with two of its arched windows... 

Cet appartement studio domine les toits et oliviers de Montefrio. Avec des fenêtres tout autour qui semblent inviter au soleil andalou à tout remplir, joyeusement! La maison est située sur un coin très tranquille et très historique de notre village, à quelques pas de la Plaza. On la voit ici au fond de la ruelle, avec "la torre", la tour-studio tout en haut, dont on voit deux de ses fenêtres arrondies...

It has a double sofa-bed (which is shown below, both closed and open), bathroom with tub and shower hose, kitchenette with micro-wave and private terrace.

The state-of-the-art air-conditioner doubles as a heater in winter.

L'acclimatiseur fonctionne aussi comme chauffage, très efficace.

The Tower opens onto the olive groves and rolling hills, as well as the great dome of our extraordinary round church, the only one of its kind in Spain.

La Tour  s'ouvre sur les oliviers et les collines, ainsi que sur la coupole de notre extraordinaire église ronde, la seule de son genre en Espagne.  

The terrace is perfect for dining in the winter sun or under the summer stars.  Just above it looms La Villa, the name of our Moorish castle and the Gothic church which was built on its ruins in the 16th century.

La terrasse est parfaite pour les repas pris aussi bien au soleil d'hiver que sous les étoiles d'une nuit d'été.  En haut, La Villa, le nom qu'on donne à notre chàteau arabe et l'église du 16ème siècle qui fut construite sur ses ruines.

The music - La musique

The song you are hearing is a Sephardic ballad, in the dialect of the Jews of medieval Spain. Lorenzo chose it because it is about a tower and a girl in the window who beckons to the passing sailors - even though there are no sailing ships in Montefrio... La musique que vous écoutez est une chanson sepharade, dans le dialect des Juifs de l'Espagne mediévale.  Lorenzo l'a choisie parce qu'elle parte d'une  tour et une fille qui depuis une fenêtre appelle aux marins qui passent - tout en admettant qu'on ne voit pas souvent de voiliers à Montefrio...
