La Casa de los Tiros
This 16th century palace is called "the House of the Shots" because of the canons which jut out from its battlements.
What makes it unique is the bellicose style, which evokes the crusades and the warriors of antiquity: the façade, as well as the famous canons, features five Greek gods dressed as Roman soldiers.
The coffered ceiling of the great hall called the Cuadra Dorada, on the second floor, is an extraordinary masterpiece of graphic art, with the vivid portraits of Spain's great heroes, from the time of the Moorish invasion to the Reconquest of Granada by the Catholic Monarchs. The Casa de los Tiros, on the Calle Santa Escolástica, today houses the Museum of the History of Granada.
