Church of Santo Domingo
It is no coincidence that this half-forgotten church was built with the tombstones of Granada's Moorish cemeteries. The Dominican Order had been the driving force of the Reconquest and the expulsion of heretics (Jews and Muslims) from the peninsula - ever since Saint Dominic, travelling through France in the 13th century, witnessed the Pope's armies exterminating the Cathars and requested that they extend their activities south of the Pyrenees, thus launching the Spanish Inquisition.
GRANADA, CITY OF MY DREAMS, a book for the curious traveller, written and illustrated by Lorenzo Bohme and published by Editorial Natívola (2003) is now in its 3rd edition. To read about it and Nativola's other publications, click here.
